Alexis Martin is a Program Officer at Galaxy Gives, supporting the Criminal Justice Reform portfolio.

Alexis was drawn to this work as a student at Columbia University, in the aim of utilizing her knowledge gained from personal experience of the criminal justice system, as well as her commitment to social justice and liberation.

This commitment was strengthened by a variety of internship, organizing, and work experiences, including being a founding member of the BYP100 NYC chapter and an intern at the War Resisters League, VOCAL-NY, and the NYCLU.

Most recently, she spent five years in the development department at the Drug Policy Alliance, where she worked on Oregon Measure 110, which successfully decriminalized the use and possession of all drugs for the first time in the US. Alexis is based in New York City, with roots in the Philadelphia area.

She is especially indebted to the Black, queer, and trans writers, organizers, and dreamers who have inspired her work.
